Introducing the 2010 participants: Vandana Prapanna

Dear All,

Hi! I am Vandana Prapanna working as curator for Indian Miniature painting section in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (formerly Prince of Wales Museum of Western India), Mumbai, India.  You can call it CSMVS.  The museum is administered by an autonomous body.  Over 50 thousand art objects in my museum mainly represent art and archaeology of India but we do have representative collections from Nepal-Tibet, Far eastern countries and Europe.  We also have a natural history section.

I have obtained my masters degree in Ancient Indian History and Museology.  I am presently working on the reorganization of miniature painting gallery.  Nearly 75% work is over and now I am concentrating on information boards, Kiosk and development of a children’s corner in the gallery.  I am eagerly looking forward to get more insight in this regard during the ITP at the British Museum.

Museum is both my profession and passion. Apart from it I like Indian light and classical music and visit unknown places.
