Learning, Engagement and Museums – Armenia Workshop 24 – 29 October
ITPers! We’ve sent an email round about this BUT just in case you missed it:
Hayk and Marine Mkrtchyan and Davit Poghosyan (Armenia, ITP 2014, 2015) working with colleagues from Manchester Art Gallery and the International Training Programme, have developed a conference and workshop series focusing on the vital role museums play in education and skills development, both in Armenia and in other parts of the world.
Looking at museum education and the training of museum staff as important issues for heritage professionals in Armenia and beyond, this conference will offer colleagues throughout the sector a chance to share stories, ideas and challenges. The workshop will focus specifically on debating and brainstorming around four key issues – Family Learning, Teenage-friendly Engagement, Adult Learning and working with Older Audiences – and will also provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on and analyse the current Skills and Opportunities for Development within the museum sector.
We would like to invite up to four ITP alumni to take part in the workshop, which takes place between 24 – 29 October and will include case studies, workshop sessions and networking events. The International Training Programme will cover the costs of accommodation and any major related travel to, from and within Armenia for successful applicants.
If you would like to apply, please complete the form attached and return it to itp@britishmuseum.org by 17:00 GMT on 11 September 2016. If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact Emma Croft (eecroft@britishmuseum.org) or Claire Messenger (cmessenger@britishmuseum.org): we will be happy to help and advise.
All the best of luck!
