Hello from Emily, a new member of staff
Hello everyone!
My name is Emily and I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work with the ITP summer programme this year!
As I am here to introduce myself here is a little bit more about me:
I am a 23 years old and I live just outside of London. I graduated last summer from Exeter University with a degree in Art History and Visual Culture, which I absolutely loved! Alongside my love for 20th century art, the decorative arts and photography, during my studies I also developed an interest in traditional museum curatorial practice and the challenge of displaying objects and/or collections in a way that successfully tells the stories behind them despite the obstacles that negotiate curatorial freedom such as the necessity to protect and preserve the objects in question.
As for my other interests, in my spare time I love to soak up a bit of culture whenever I can and wherever I am – galleries, museums, current exhibitions, heritage properties, theatre, cinema, food – you name it! I also enjoy photography, reading, cooking for my family and friends, and travelling.
I am so excited to be working with such a fantastic programme for the next three months, assisting with the planning, coordination and delivering of the ITP summer programme to help ensure you all have the best time you possibly can! I very much look forward to meeting all you fellows from all over the world, learning more about you and your interests and sharing our experiences.
See you very soon!
Emily
