Hello from Symphorose: Birkbeck University Student Placement with ITP

Hello! I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself to the ITP global network on my first day as International Training Programme Network Survey Student work experience placement.

My name is Symphorose, I am a French student from Paris living in East London and doing a Master in History of Art at Birkbeck College, University of London. Before that, I did a Bachelor at Central Saint Martins in Culture, Criticism and Curation.

I am super excited to be part of the International Training Programme this year! I truly love the whole concept of the programme. My main role in the ITP team is to create an online survey and a project proposal in order to shape future legacy projects.

I’ve already done some internships related to the art world in several art galleries/artist’s studios in London and Paris. I’ve always been passionate about Art and more particularly about painting and contemporary art. My favorite artists are Louise Bourgeois, Oda Jaune and Salvador Dali. Creativity is my way of life and helps me daily to conceive new ideas and visualise artistic objectives. During my free time, I like to see exhibitions in museums, galleries or art fairs for discovering new artists and new art spaces.

At the moment, I am also creating alongside my studies, an Instagram account dedicated to sharing my artistic discoveries. I also love photography, travel and music. Next year I’m going to begin a second Master in Art Business because my career goal in the coming years is to thrive in the contemporary art market as an art dealer or art consultant.

I feel very lucky to join the International Training Programme facing new digital challenges this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and I look forward to acquiring new knowledge, meeting inspiring people and helping the whole team.
