Travel dates: 4 – 12 November 2023
Museum visits: 6 & 10 November 2023
Conference dates: 7 – 9 November 2023
In November 2023 we would like to invite 5 ITP Fellows to join us between 4 – 12 November 2023 at the Museums Association (MA) conference and exhibition, Gateshead. The conference will take place on 7 – 9 November 2023 at the Sage, Gateshead.
This year’s MA conference will focus on The Power of Museums and will ask the question, how can we create a new vision for the sector?. Sessions and workshops will explore how museums can help their communities flourish by having a positive impact on health and wellbeing, placemaking, economic regeneration and by providing space to reflect on the pressing issues that we face. The cost-of-living crisis, discrimination and climate change are all having an impact on our communities so the conference will consider what do people need from museums in times of upheaval and change?
There will also be the opportunity to spend time at museums, galleries and heritage sites in and around Gateshead (see below for some potential visits) with additional programming focused around our participants specific areas of interest.
