ITP Conference Grant report from Rema Zeynalova (Azerbaijan, ITP 2018)

Written by Claire Messenger, Manager, International Training Programme.

In October 2023 we were delighted to award an ITP Conference Grant to Rema Zeynalova (Azerbaijan, ITP Fellow 2018).

Rema used her support grant to travel to the Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore from 20 – 24 November 2023 for an ICOM CECA conference titled Museums: Shaping the Future of Education.

Rema spoke at the conference on the Interactive Experiences of Children at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and used her time to meet professionals and experts in the field of museum education and learn from their expertise. It was wonderful to see that Rema was able to reconnect with her ITP alumni colleague, Mariana Sainz (Mexico, ITP 2018) from the Franz Mayer Museum.

I was particularly interested in Rema’s visits to Museums across Singapore.  The ArtScience Museum – an iconic cultural landmark in Singapore – whose mission is to explore where art, science, culture and technology come together.  And the Children’s Museum Singapore – the first museum in Singapore dedicated to children 12 years old and below – whose aim is to support wonder and the power of play in a safe environment.  Clearly fascinating, inspiring and creative spaces.

We were delighted to be able to support Rema to attend and speak at the conference in Singapore and her report – HERE – shares her experience with the wider ITP network.

Enjoy!!
