ITP Conference Grant Report from Sayed Abuelfadl Othman Ahmed (Egypt, ITP 2016)
Written by Claire Messenger, Manager, International Training Programme
This year we were delighted to support Sayed Abuelfadl Othman Ahmed (Egypt, ITP Fellow 2016) with an ITP Conference Grant.
Sayed, who is currently Supervisor of the Museum Exhibitions Galleries at The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Cairo – https://nmec.gov.eg/ – used his support grant to travel to Current Research in Egyptology (CRE) Conference that was held at the University of Liverpool from 2 to 6 September 2024.
Current Research in Egyptology (CRE) is a postgraduate conference set up to facilitate research and promote bonds between British and international universities worldwide who are conducting research in Egyptology, Egyptian Archaeology, or any other related field of study.
At the conference, Sayed aimed to learn more about completed and ongoing research into all aspects of Egyptology and Nubiology and to meet colleagues from across the sector to share news and views. He was also able to take the opportunity to visit institutions across the city of Liverpool – the World Museum, the National Gallery, the Museum of Liverpool, the Slavery Museum, and the Maritime Museum – where he looked at display, the use of technology and projects and programmes for their audiences.
We were delighted to be able to support Sayed to attend the conference in Liverpool and to now share his final report on his experiences.
