Throwback Thursday – Summer Programme 2007
Welcome back to Throwback Thursday and this week’s images come from the summer programme 2007.
This summer the numbers of participants was gradually rising and we welcomed eighteen ITP fellows from eight countries – China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, South Africa, Sudan and Turkey – to the UK. Our UK Partner UK museums also increased with Glasgow Museums joining Tyne & Wear Archives and Museums, The Collection – Lincoln and Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales hosting fellows. We were also delighted to welcome Fiona Ziota – who helped with the administration and logistics of the programme – to the ITP team.
2007 seemed a very busy year for connecting with institutions and colleagues around the country with visits to the Horniman Museum, Kew Gardens, Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, Sir John Soane’s Museum, V&A, British Library, Palestine Exploration Fund, Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, Bath Museum of Far Eastern Art, Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, Ashmolean Museum, Pitt-Rivers Museum and the Fitzwilliam Museum.
Still there was no ‘Object in Focus’ project but two things that all 299 of our ITP fellows will remember, whichever year they came on the programme, were our visit to Kenwood House followed by tea at the home of Frances Carey and our accommodation, Schafer House.
