As the Head of Museum Management and Information Bureau at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam, Ninh’s responsibilities involve coordinating and overseeing all museum related activities across the country. He actively assists museums in Vietnam with their exhibitions and educational programmes. Ninh is also the Secretary of ICOM Vietnam.

Ninh is interested in acquiring more knowledge in managing museums, including formulating strategies for developing museum collections, organising exhibitions and education programmes. Other interests include applying new technologies in museums, fundraising and evaluating the needs of museum visitors.

At the British Museum
During Ninh’s time on the International Training Programme, he was based in the Asia Department and spent his UK partner placement at Manchester Museum, Manchester Art Gallery and Whitworth Art Gallery.

As an ongoing project throughout the six-week programme, fellows were asked to use their existing skills and experience, and the knowledge gained throughout the annual programme, to create, develop, and propose a new interpretation for an object currently on display in the British Museum. Working in his departmental group, Ninh used their object, a Bencharong bowl, to explore the history of the object through cross cultural exchange.

Ninh’s participation on the International Training Programme was generously supported by the Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust.
